Project description:
The development located at Al Sawadi seaside in Oman consisted of 10 phases which were to be delivered in a spam of 15 years. The most diverse uses are combined on this project, from residences to hotels, retail, restaurants as well as top-notch amenities can be find all over the project. The design is structured around several types of units which are combined in different sequences, creating clusters which replicate the old Arabic cities with narrow alleys and mashrabiyas.

Key stakeholders: Foster+Partners, ASIT and local Authorities

Main responsibilities: Develop the detailed design documentation for one cluster, without deviating from Foster+Partner’s concept design, in line with local Authorities Regulations and optimizing the sellable areas for the Developer. Leading the subconsultants to coordinate all specialists’ trades was also part of my scope of works.

Major achievements: The project was the first of its’ kind to be developed utilizing BIM software, which was a challenge for both Autodesk and our team. The close coordination with Autodesk made the delivery of this master plan design successful.
