portugues…. Since a very young age I found passion in drawing, which later developed into architecture. I graduated in 2006 from Universidad de la Republica in Uruguay and rapidly developed an interest in project management.
My career commenced even before I got my degree, working free lance for projects in Uruguay and Qatar; which gave me the opportunity to see different design styles, details and ways of execution.
As I got more experience, I joined GC:Arquitectos as a Project Manager, a boutique design & build architecture firm in Uruguay.
I travelled a lot as a teenager and lived in the US and France for short periods of time while studying. As a young architect working in Uruguay I dreamed of seeing the world from a different perspective and to challenge myself. At that time Dubai was booming, and my then boyfriend and I decided to embark on the adventure of finding a job in Dubai; it was the best experience an architect could ever dream of!
I worked in Dubai for 12 years. Starting as a Consultant with Aedas Architects, a global award-winning architectural firm, then shifting to the Contracting side with the construction arm of Samsung, and later moving to the Developer world with boutique developer Sweid & Sweid and finally with Emaar Properties, the biggest developer in the Middle East and one of the strongest worldwide. Wearing all hats helped me develop an in-depth understanding of what is required to deliver a project diligently, having in mind both the benefit of the Project and all stakeholders.
During my career I cultivated a special interest in sustainability and project management, obtaining the LEED AP BD+C accreditation and attending several courses in Project Management, namely PMP and FIDIC contract management.
I worked in low-rise, mid-rise, high-rise, residential, hospitality, entertainment, commercial, and master planning projects. I was part of all project delivery stages; design, tender, construction and development. My portfolio also includes several projects for international brands such as Cirque du Soleil, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, Oracle and Mattel.
Twelve years and three-kids later the family brings us back to Uruguay, were we can give our kids the benefit of growing surrounded by their relatives and have a slower paced life. Architecture is still my passion and Uruguay has plenty of room for good experiences, so here I am ready for the next adventure!
